Station 17 was dispatched for a Structure Fire on Hayes Rd in Amity Township. Initial mutual assignment was for Union City VFD Station 113. City of Corry Fire Department and Elgin-Beaverdam Volunteer Fire Department were assigned by special request of Wattsburg Asst. Chief 180. 180 and Elgin 741 arrived on location and reported a single story wood frame residential with smoke showing. Responding units included: Wattsburg Engine 172 and Squad 178; Union City Tanker 1136, Ladder 1139, and Rescue 1147; Corry Engine 104 and Rescue 108; Elgin Engine 754 and Tanker 756; Waterford Chief 140; and EmergyCare Medic 194. Fire Police from all departments responded. 108 had RIT. 104 had the supply. 754 was initial attack. 1139 laddered the building.
All occupants were safely out of the structure prior to arrival. The fire was found to be a Chimney Fire with extension into the residence. Crews extinguished the fire without incident, and returned to service. MORE

Sept 26, 2009
Station 17 was dispatched to assist Station 70 on Rte 89 at Wildman Rd for Motor Vehicle Accident with a fatality. A van was struck by a dump truck. Greenfield 707 was on scene, and transported one occupant to the hospital. Other responding agencies were: Harborcreek, North East, Kuhl Hose, Pennsylvania State Police, and the Erie County HazMat team. MORE
