Old Engine 171
1948 Chevrolet
This truck is the first vehicle ever purchased new by the Wattsburg Hose Company. It was replaced by the old Engine 172, an American LaFrance, then sold to another department. The buying department eventually wanted to sell the truck, so the Wattsburg Hose Company purchased the truck back, and had it restored. The gold paint is actually gold, and was hand lettered by a member of the community. This truck is mostly used for parades, but could be placed back in service with minimal work.
